Nursing Home Death Under Investigation

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — A recent death at the Champaign County Nursing Home is currently under investigation by the Illinois State Police and other authorities.

A 78-year old woman was found dead in an outdoor courtyard Saturday afternoon.

County Administrator Rick Snider released the following statement:

All of us at Champaign County are devastated by the loss of one of our residents. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of those who have lost someone dear to them. The matter is currently under investigation and Champaign County Nursing Home is cooperating with all investigating agencies and is also cooperating in all ongoing inquiries and will continue to do so.
