New nursing home manager: Don’t forget about residents

By: Aaron Eades

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — The nursing home’s new manager says they’ve already been able to save the home thousands of dollars.

SAK Management Services took over on July first. Since then, they’ve been shuffling staff and slashing budgets. They say the home’s finances have caused concerns on the inside. As the county prepares to put the home on the market, SAK says they don’t want people to forget about one thing: the people who live there.

It’s not on the market yet, but we got a sneak peek of the open house. It has a courtyard maintained by master gardeners, a general store, a therapy center, and 240-some beds, 133 of which are currently spoken for.
